💚The Healthy Bit: Celery 💚

Celery is a highly nutritious, low-calorie vegetable with approximately 15 calories per two stalks. It also promotes hydration with a 95% water content. Celery is rich in antioxidants like apigenin and phenolic acids, which help reduce inflammation, lower blood pressure, and support digestion. Celery also provides significant vitamin K, aiding blood health, blood clotting, and bone strength.

The fiber in celery, including from the root, aids in regularity and contains complex carbs that ferment in the large intestine to support gut health.

Note: Given the effects that celery has on blood health, please be mindful of your intake if you have blood health or cardiac issues.
