💚The Healthy Bit: NAME 💚
The smell of rosemary is known to reduce cortisol (the stress hormone) levels and increase dopamine, a mood-boosting neurotransmitter. This makes it a potential aid in managing anxiety and improving mood.
Rosemary can also aid in digestion by stimulating bile production, which helps neutralize stomach acid and ease digestive discomforts like heartburn and gas. In addition, it may also promote a healthy balance of gut bacteria and reduce inflammation in the digestive tract.
The herb also contains antioxidants and compounds that combat inflammation, which is linked to various chronic diseases. These properties may help protect cells from damage, reduce pain, and support overall well-being.
Used topically, rosemary oil is believed to stimulate blood circulation to the scalp which can promote hair growth and help with issues such as hair loss and dandruff. Rosemary oil can also be added to your favorite lotion to intensify moisturization.
